You're suppose to do a long run in preparation for the marathon. At least once a week, you need to build up endurance and stamina with a longer run.
Today, I got in 5 miles with intervals of running/walking.
The distance really doesn't bother me at all. I'm a great walker. I love to walk!
In fact, I love to walk a city. When in Paris in June, I walked 60 miles over the few days I was there. When in NYC, I am know to walk 10-12 miles a day. So, I am not at all concerned about going the distance. But, I am concerned about actually being able to run any of this marathon.
